Ghost Hunters International Starts off With A Bang

Last week on Ghost Hunters International the team headed to Peru to investigate a Spanish fort that was rife with paranormal activity. There were ghostly conversations that took place and even a full body apparition was seen by Barry. These paranormal occurrences are not taken lightly by the GHI team as they wrap up their investigation with some amazing video evidence. If you want to view the episode you can visit Watch GHI Full Episodes Online and watch the episode for yourself. I would really stay tuned as this weeks episode is supposed to be better than last weeks.

A Ghost Hunters Prayer

These are a couple small prayers that I use to help protect myself and my team no matter where ever we go.

When Starting an Investigation:

Saint Michael the Archangel, Defend us in battle
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray
And do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
By the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits
Who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen

Closing prayer:

"In the name of Jesus Christ, I command all human spirits to be bound to
the confines of the cemetery. I command all inhuman spirits to go where Jesus
Christ tells you to go, for it is He who commands you." Amen

It is always best to have some sort of spiritual protection as you will never know what could happen on an investigation. This simple yet powerful prayer can help protect you from evil spirits that would nothing better than to harm you. You can see this prayer in action on shows like Most Haunted, and Paranormal State. These shows are seen on different television networks but you can watch full episodes of them on ExtremeGhostHunters.Com

Ghost Hunting Equipment

I've have seen some very strange homemade tools being used on a lot of different investigations but I figured I would put together a list of the top ones that newer individuals should have when attempting to conduct a paranormal investigation.

  • A camera - (35mm is what most seasoned paranormal investigators like to use, but honestly digital, infared it doesn't really matter, you can get results with any of them. Although using an Infared camera is very high tech and very costly.)
  • A flashlight - (This is a must and is usually common sense but I figured I would list it anyways. And make sure you bring spare batteries. You never know when the batteries will wear out or become drained.)
  • A small first aid kit - (This doesn't have to be a full E.M.T. kit. Just some band-aids and antiseptic. Helps with those pesky nicks and scrapes you will so often get by wandering around in the dark.)
  • A notebook and pen - (This is essential for keeping track of arrival and departure times and for also writing down suspected paranormal activity, such as high E.M.F. readings or temperature fluctuations.)
  • An E.M.F. meter - (Commonly referred to as an E.M.F. meter, it is technically known as an Electromagnetic Field Detector. These come in every shape and size and can be found at most hardware stores.)
  • A hand held digital thermometer - (This is important to record temperature fluctuations that may occur. Paranormal researchers believe that when a spirit is trying to manifest itself it will draw the energy out of the atmosphere thus creating what they like call "cold spots", these cold spots can be detected with a hand held digital thermometer.)
  • A hand held recorder - (These can be the old style mini tape recorders or even the newer digital hand held recorders. Either one will work just the same. It's important when trying to make contact and record Electronic Voice Phenomenon, or E.V.P.'s as most call them, to speak slowly and allow enough time to pass to give the spirits a chance to answer.)
  • A Night-vision Camera - (This is probably one of the best things to have if you are serious about becoming a paranormal investigator. Capturing evidence on a hand held camcorder is what it is all about. Because you never know what your camera may have picked up, that you didn't see with your own eyes.)
I tried to make this list short and sweet and put in the basics of what you should have if you are to be taken seriously as a paranormal investigator. Of course you probably don't have to have every piece I mentioned but it is important that you at least have the basics. Remember when conducting an investigation, you always want to do your homework.

Ghost Hunting Guides

In this article you will be given some of the most common techniques that paranormal investigators use on a daily basis when they are dealing with the supernatural. This are more or less what some would call rules on how you should act and treat suspecting paranormal phenomenon. Once you have a few dozen investigations under your belt these will become like second nature to you.

Remember not all situations are the same so you must always be prepared to deal with things you haven't had to deal with before. This is where this guidelines can come in very handy.

1. Let the ghosts and spirits know that they will never be forgotten. In other words the ghosts or spirits were people like you or I and should be treated with respect because after all they still are people in one form or another.

2. If you want to be taken seriously in this field you should never bully spirits or threaten them in any way, as they may become vindictive and could seriously harm you or one of your investigators. There is a difference between provoking and being down right being callous.

3. You always want to be professional in every aspect of your investigations, it not only reflects to the clients but it will often reflect to the spirits as well. Not to mention it will also reflect upon your team and can open doors that might have been closed before.

4. Never go on an investigation alone. There is never a time when you should do an investigation on your own, always go with a team of at least two. The ideal is to have multiple groups of two, and always stay together.

5. Upon no circumstances should you leave a team member behind. Running off and leaving a team member to fend for themselves is not only cowardly but also can be potentially dangerous as the team member may not know the way out and could fall and get seriously injured.

6. Fear is a natural human state, and if someone tells you they are never afraid they are lying. All humans handle fear in different ways. It's ok to be frightened, but an excess of fear can hinder an investigation. And could open you up to an entity taking advantage of your fear.

7. Knowledge is power. Do your homework. Knowing what you are potentially going to deal with beforehand can be to your advantage.

8. Visit the site before hand and do a walk around and learn where things such as exits, stairwells, and danger zones are. Remember after the lights go out, things look totally different. It's not uncommon for investigators to visit locations many times in advance. It helps to know the layout and any other information that could help you during your investigation.

9. Do your homework. Learn about the location, find out the history if it is available. Talk with previous tenants/workers/owners. Having knowledge prior to walking into a location can often lead to your best paranormal evidence.

10. Never be in a hurry to complete an investigation. This is probably one of the biggest problems among younger or inexperienced investigators. Having the patience to sit and just listen comes with experience. You need to realize that not every investigation will result in paranormal evidence. Sometimes you have to visit locations 2, 3, 4, 5 times before you will get something. Being in a hurry leads to carelessness and can even hinder your chances of contacting anything there.

These guidelines are part of the core of ghost hunting. And are designed to help protect you from harm and also to protect your team as well. If you are interested in seeing some of these tactics put to use by experienced paranormal investigators, you can visit: www.extremeghosthunters.com and watch some of the shows there.

Good Luck and Happy Hunting,
